Watercolors of Karoonjhar:
Landscapes, Temples, and Stories

Artist's Statement:

I had the privilege of traveling to the Karoonjhar Mountains in Nagarparkar, Sindh—a landscape steeped in cultural, ecological, and spiritual significance. Through my watercolor illustrations, I wanted to capture the essence of this remarkable place: the delicate flora, the threatened landscapes, the sacred temples, and the folklore that has been passed down through generations.

My work is a blend of plein air paintings created on location and more detailed studio works, each reflecting my experience with the region's landscapes and people. This project aims to document not only the beauty of Karoonjhar but also the fragility of its ecosystems and cultural landmarks. In a world where these treasures are increasingly at risk, I hope my watercolors offer a glimpse into a place that deserves to be remembered and protected.
